Chris Christie just received a strong rebuff from the NJ Supreme Court which refused to issue a stay while it considers Christie's appeal in connection with an order that same-sex marriage commence next week in New Jersey. Christie has singularly blocked marriage equality from becoming a reality in New Jersey, vetoing a bill passed by the state legislature, suggesting instead that the issue should be put on the ballot. The NJ Supreme Court ruled that the state has "not shown a reasonable probability it will succeed on the merits ." The appeal will be argued in January. The decision was unanimous, signaling that the final decision isn't going to go the way Christie would like either.
