As of today, DOMA is effectively no longer, although today's Supreme Court ruling only struck down Section 5 but effectively the test used to strike this section would be the same for Sections 2 and 3 and the justices so much as admitted this. We should thank the four Liberal Justices and Justice Kennedy, the swing vote for their decision. To the Conservative Justices, especially Anton Scalia, who ranted about homosexual sodomy in his dissent as if he were still arguing Lawrence v Texas, we should extend a big FU, especially after striking down the Voting Rights Act yesterday. Prop 8 is also essentially dead in the state of California and same-sex marriages will presumably resume shortly in that great state. Today's a milestone day in gay history! Celebrate!
