It's been freezing cold in New York City for the past few days but the Broadway Bares: Winter Burlesque benefit held at XL Nightclub on the evening of Jan.27, 2012 helped to steam thing up! While not as large as the annual summer Broadway Bares benefit at Roseland, this endeavor was quite impressive in that it featured 25 of Broadway's hottest dancers in elaborate strip-tease numbers complete with staging, costumes and scenery. Granted all of the strips are re-dos of past production numbers, but these were some of the most creative ever produced in the history of Broadway Bares. The new collection of male hottie dancers are especially note worthy. I only wish I could identify them all by name, especially the hunk who started the show by peeling off his winter overcoat, displaying a lovely backside. Jerry Mitchell should definitely take note of him and feature him in this year's Solo Strips! The program given out at the event only lists the dancers alphabetically without identifying which production numbers they were featured in, so I can't unfortunately credit them all properly. I virtually videotaped the entire show and will present the best of the strip-teases on the naturalcityman blog during this week and next and will ultimately create an extended video of the entire, which I'll also make available to my followers here.
The first strip I'm presenting here is called Fringe Benefits, and it features an Elvis Presley take-off. At the conslusion of his strip, our Elvis impersonator does a very fine presentation of his amazing ass, as he struts the runway. He's not shy about it either. This number was originally choreographed for Broadway Bares 9 by Jerry Mitchell.
If you like the strip numbers, I'm presenting here but can't attend a Broadway Bares event in person, please contribute to Broadway Cares/Broadway Equity Fight Aids at their website www.broadwaybares.com. Broadway Cares helps those in need who are afflicted with Aids.
